NEWS

10/11/2010 - INTEL supports the 6th IEEE Broadband Wireless Access Workshop as Premium Sponsor

08/11/2010 - Program online

18/08/2010 - Please mind the camera-ready submission instructions (CR-papers are to be uploaded in EDAS; not IEEE Xplore). Deadline is 31st of August.

17/08/2010 - Authors notified. Accepted were 19 papers (regular presentation) plus 10 papers (poster presentation) out of 103 submissions. This results in an AR of 19% respectively 29%. Mind that the sole difference made is the presentation on-site.

03/07/2010 - The workshop is currently reviewing candidate journals/magazines for publishing extended versions of the 3-5 best papers. Please feel free to submit your suggestion to the workshop chairs.

23/06/2010 - Deadline extended to 3rd of July

02/04/2010 - Website online.

AIMS AND TOPICS

Internet access is undergoing a fundamental change. More powerful devices and lower cost radio technologies are facilitating the transition to the Mobile Internet in which users can access a diverse range of services and applications anytime, anywhere. However, the huge increase in demand that this brings cannot easily be met by current radio access systems. Hence, there is a need for more powerful, more efficient, higher speed, lower cost radio technologies for Broadband Wireless Access.

There is much energy within the community to develop more advanced BWA technologies - activities span the wireless domain, ranging from more advanced antenna technologies to co-operative relays to mesh networking systems and many more: future networks will likely employ some mix of these different mechanisms. We anticipate that this 4th workshop will continue the series of successful workshops, providing a forum for new research results and reports on practical experience working with innovative technologies in the domain of Broadband Wireless Access. The workshop, then, is soliciting contributions including but not limited to topics listed below.

  • Incumbent and Future BWA Technologies, UMTS, HSPA, LTE, LTE-Advanced, 802.16x
